From Prada, Givenchy and Dolce & Gabbana to Celine, designers loved the mini – or at least very small – handbag this season. Louis Vuitton’s Petite Malle is a dinky confection at a awe-inspiring £2,940. If my mate was carrying this, I’d marry her brother. The pros: small handbags are light and pretty and offer an incredibly ladylike accent in a landscape of sometimes androgynous fashion. You can wear them hanging from one shoulder or across the body if you’re belting for the bus. The cons: you’re not going to be slipping your laptop into your mini bag any time soon. But hey, if that’s a problem, tie it in with the other top accessory trend and carry a shopper as well. I round up some of the season’s prettiest small bags.
