Let’s be honest: you don’t often see the words ‘handmade in Warsaw’ stamped on a bag but it’s only one of the reasons ThisisPaper is special. On its site, the multi-talented Polish brand offers art reviews, short film, music, indie mags, its own online publication – and a small collection of beautifully stripped back, vegan accessories, handmade in ThisisPaper’s Warsaw studio, crafted from heavy Polish cotton sailcloth and linen, an ode to utility and moderation. For its aesthetic and politics as well as its ethos of ‘everything is connected’: I love. www.thisispapershop.com

Melissa
Cult Brazilian plastic footwear brand Melissa, which has worked with Vivienne Westwood and Karl Lagerfeld amongst others to create modern twists on its classic styles, re-launches the original jelly shoe design, the Aranha 1979. Inspired by the footwear of fishermen on the French Riviera, its name stems from the plastic braids that make up its structure, which look similar to a spider (‘aranha’ in Portuguese). Summer 2015 is available in black, blue, pink and white. £58, www.nonnon.co.uk
