Dressing up in J W Anderson

Much as I love trying on new stuff, it's completely different being photographed wearing it. When it's clothes by LFW hotshot J W Anderson, it's an experience. This is a jumper and skirt from the AW13 collection of a pre-LVMH/Loewe J W Anderson, encapsulating pretty much everything I love about this challenging designer.

A grey sweater is given added twist-and-shout by a knotted front. It looks - and feels - a bit like corsetry and, constructed of boiled wool, seems fully snug enough to withstand a Shetland winter without a coat. And the skirt? What's not to love about a girly ra ra covered in a boysy comic-inspired crashing car print? Ten pleats on the skirt, apparently. No more, no less. Genius.
