Fifteen of the best party dresses

Trawling through party dresses for this selection, I realised five things: 1) I am extremely bored of LBDs. Which doesn't mean I haven't included them; 2) high sheen - in the form of lame, paillettes and metallics - is both popular and effective; 3) I have a strange obsession with flesh pink dresses, which, at first glance, will make you look naked when you walk in the room. You'll need guts to carry these off and, simultaneously - and ironically, abs of steel; 4) Victoria Beckham has a lot more eccentric humour than I realised. Check out this season's offerings and you'll see what I mean. 5) The reason I love MGSM's shimmery tunic is largely because it has the neck detail of a cricket jumper.
